The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has already cut more that $1/2 million from its budget and is preparing for more cuts by not filling all faculty positions. Another measure to cope with the cuts is to force two or three day long furloughs - unpaid time off - on employees. The 51 passengers on the flight were safe although fire trucks were on the scene to provide assistance. An airport spokesman said that this was nothing out of the ordinary.
